The state police has revealed that the incident of a minor girl being injected with a syringe by two unidentified bike-borne persons at Jaiaw did not occur at all.

The complaint was filed with the Lumdiengjri police station on August 18. According to the complaint, the incident had taken place near the Bible Society of India, Jaiaw.

After conducting a thorough investigation, examining all relevant evidence, and recording statements before the court, the police have conclusively established that the alleged incident did not occur as stated in the First Information Report (FIR). The investigation has found no evidence to support the claims made in the complaint.

“The investigation has conclusively established that the alleged incident did not occur as stated in the FIR,” East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“In compliance with legal procedure, a Final Report in the matter will be submitted before the competent Court,” he added.
