    The District Administration East Khasi Hills has denied permission to the HYC for organizing rally on Thursday.

    In a letter to Joy Phankon Member, Education Cell, HYC, CEC, the Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills informed permission for rally from Madan Iewrynghep to Additional Secretariat on Thursday is regretted since the issue pertaining to the release of scholarships has been addressed by the Government.

    The Government through the Education Department vide Official Notification dated 9th November 2022 sanctioned and released an amount of Rs.169,72,91, 679 for the scholarship which will be disbursed through PFMS to all individual bank accounts of students with effect from Thursday.

    Further, since Section 144 CrPC has been imposed vide the Order of the District Magistrate dated 31st October, 2022 in the entire Shillong Urban Area Agglomeration prohibiting any rally, the permission for the rally cannot be granted.
