Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday said there will be no conflict of interest within the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government with the entry of the five suspended Congress legislators.

“I don’t see any issue or any conflict of interest,” Sangma told reporters when asked about if the BJP-Congress conflict will affect the ruling MDA.

He said there will be no conflict because Congress has already taken action against the five legislators by suspending them for supporting the NPP-led MDA government.

“So right now they are in a way not actually Congress because they have been suspended,” Sangma said.

The chief minister further assured to carry everybody along as he said “we are all here to work together for the state”.

He said the overall performance of the MDA government and its effort to resolve long pending issues has built up the confidence among leaders who are in the opposition. “It is a positive reflection of the works of the government that today these leaders are supporting the MDA,” he said.
