Chokpot legislator Lazarus Sangma said that no AITC legislator will be defect to NPP’s camp.

He was reacting to the claims of NPP that several AITC legislators would be joining the NPP camp before election.“It is an outrageous claim,” Sangma said in a statement issued on Sunday.

He said the NPP is not only poaching AITC MLAs but those from other political parties. “However, you cannot paoch legislators with principles,” Sangma said.

“None of the AITC legislators as of now or in future would be joining NPP,” he sternly announced adding that, “NPP has a weak leadership.”

He said the chief minister Conrad K Sangma, instead of taking responsibility and accountability for his action, he has always took a crooked road of blaming others for his own action while referring to the border dispute and agreement signed by present CM.

Sangma said that present CM’s leadership is very weak and no AITC legislator from Meghalaya would like to be a part in that fold in comparision to Dr. Mukul Sangma’s able leadership team.

CM has done more harm than benefit to the state of Meghalaya especially Garo Hills in reference to all the sectors with education having suffered more than anything being the NPP’s first priority, he said.

Lazarus Sangma further stated that all the claims made by NPP is just the media bluff be it AITC legislators joining NPP or border dispute or education as first priority or fulfilling the dream of Late Purno Agitok Sangma, etc.

“Had NPP kept its promises in four years nullifying the drama it hosts, they don’t need to omit the bluff in the media to fool the people of Meghalaya,” Sangma said.

He said that NPP should be careful while making such tall claims and he added that, “CM himself, may not win from his own constituency in coming election as people of South Tura has already lost faith in his policies and actions.”
