No addition or inclusion of beneficiary under PDS until completion of census

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) East Khasi Hills District has informed that there will be no addition/inclusion of new beneficiaries under Public Distribution System until the new Socio Economic & Caste Census list is prepared, which will be based on the new census.

The information is for the general public of East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in view of the fact that several requests were received by the Supply Department to include the new members of the existing Below Poverty Line family as well as new beneficiaries

However, allocation of foodgrains under Public Distribution System from the Government of India was based from the Socio Economic & Caste Census, 2011.
