    The East Jaintia Hills District Administration has banned the sale of Nitrazepam tablets without proper medical prescription.

    According to prohibitory order issued under Section 144 CrPC, the district administration informed the illicit trafficking of the hypnotic pharmaceutical drug by the commercial name
    Nitrazepam tablet have a deleterious impact on the general health of the public in the District.

    Such illegal acts by certain individuals and pharmacy/ drug store within this district needs to be closely monitored and controlled to prevent any misusing and mishandling of the drugs.

    The order prohibited the sale of Nitrazepam tablets to the general public by the pharmacy/ drug store without proper medical prescription by registered physician.

    Attempts to transport/ supply Nitrazepam drug within or through this district by any person (S) or any group(s) without proper permit/ permission or relevant document issued by the Govermment.
