Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday said the Centre has assured to clear externally aided projects amounting to Rs 1,000 crore for the state of Meghalaya.

Sangma informed that during his recent Delhi visit, he had met the vice chairman of the NITI Aayog regarding three-four of the externally aided projects.

“…the vice chairman has assured me that he would be clearing them so these projects on different sectors amounting to 1,000 crore are very important for us and NITI Aayog has to give its comments so I got a very positive response in regards to that,” he said.

The chief minister also met the Information and Technology Minister for his intervention into the need for expansion of the towers.

“We are having some issues from the government of India. I have brought those issues to the notice of the minister and he has said that he will ensure that those issues are also addressed,” he informed.
