    East Jaintia Hills District Magistrate, FM Dopth has extended the night curfew in the entire district from July 27 until further orders.

    The timing of the night curfew will be from 9 pm to 5 am each day.

    In an order issued on July 26, the curfew was extended in view of prevailing situation concerning the spike of COVID-19 pandemic in the state, country and globally.
    “The order was to put in place preventive and mitigation measures to identify and take stringent steps so pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, reduced and eliminated in East Jaintia Hills District,” FM Dopth said in his order.

    This Order will Not apply to:

    Security Forces
    Medical Teams on duty
    Wholesale and Retail a Pharmacies
    Police and Armed Force
    Fire Emergency Service
    MeECL. NEEPCO & power Grid
    Food and Civil Supply Department
    FCI
    Public Works department (PWD)
    Public Health Engincering (PHE) Department
    Postal Service Telecom, Communication & IT Services
    Press, Print& Electronic Media
    Petrol Pumps
    Essential services including Health Services and online/home food delivery
    Authorized workshops and designated spare parts dealerships of Health and Family Welfare
    Department. Govt of Meghalaya.
    Government Officials on Duty.

    East Jaintia Hills admin declares six villages as containment areas

    These Services shall strictly comply with all protocols and procedures including social distancing, limiting of field staff and other advisories of Government in the to the barest minimum and other advisories of Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department, without fail,

    Also, movement of vehicles carrying essential goods, security forces, medical equipments and shops for repair of truck on Highway. However Drivers and attendants of the vehicles shall be subject to medical screening as per laid down protocols.

    Curfew passes for timings falling between 9:PM to 5.00 AM from 27 July, 2020 until further orders to be obtained by office of the undersigned along with headmen certificate for such specific needs.
