  • NH-6 repair work: Restrictions on HMVs overtaking and timings

    The District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District has section 163 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 prohibiting overtaking of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVS) from Tuber to Ratacherra along NH-6.

    According to the order issued on Thursday, it also ban rash driving by Light Motor Vehicles (LMVS) using NH-6.

    The order is issued in view of the ongoing repair works being carried out along the National Highway and to mitigate traffic congestion and vehicle immobilization.

    In view of the repair work on NH-6 in East Jaintia Hills District, the entire stretch of ongoing work will remain restricted to Heavy Motor Vehicles from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

    However, with slight modifications, Light Motor Vehicles will be allowed access.
