    In order to facilitate speedy completion of the ongoing construction works, renovation and repair of the National Highway-6 Road along the stretch from Lumshnong upto Malidor will remain closed to vehicular traffic, including both light and heavy motor vehicles, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, starting Tuesday, December 3.

    Informing this, the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Disaster Management Authority East Jaintia Hills District said due to the ongoing works and closure of the National Highway-6 from Lumshnong upto Malidor, all vehicles are strictly prohibited from accessing this section of the road.

    During the period, local Access for Commuters will not be allowed unless under exceptional circumstances approved by the authorities managing the traffic. Only Emergency Vehicles will be allowed access through the “Closed Area”.

    However, Ambulance and other related Crucial Emergencies only will be facilitated in a coordinated manner while all other vehicles must follow the detour routes as provided by Traffic Personnel.

    The commuters are advised to be mindful of Signages for Night Visibility to prevent any untoward incident during the entire process of Works especially at Strategic Locations of Work for visibility i.e, Bridges, Culverts, Major Potholes/Stretches of Ongoing Works.
