    Within few days of taking charge as Superintendent of Police of East Jaintia Hills District, Deepak Kumar Palecha went for inspection to the extreme border area of the district to instill a sense of confidence and trust amongst the local people under his regime.

    The SP led a team of police officers including DySP (Crime), CI(S) Khliehriat, Reserve Inspector and OC Saipung PS this morning to conduct an inspection of Mooriap battalion out post BOP of the Meghalaya Police.

    The SP also held a meeting with the Headman, Pastor and the villagers of the areas.

    The main aim of the visit was to strengthen Police Public relations for better Policing.

    During the meeting the SP and his officers held a healthy discussion with the villagers and appealed to them to share any information, which will help Police in curbing crime in the area.

    Review of the prevailing situation of the area vis-a-vis threat from the militant group active in the border areas with Assam.

    The SP told during the meeting round the clock Police assistance and assurance of all possible help from Police.

    The villagers appreciated the work of the Police in the area and the district and assured of all possible cooperation.

    The SP also interacted with police personnel posted at the BOP and briefed them to work with zeal and dedication for betterment of the society. Welfare measures of the police personnel were also discussed.
