    The Meghalaya Health department on Monday released the new set of guidelines/protocols for returnees including asymptomatic Government functionaries and health care workers of Dedicated COV1D-19 Hospitals/Units.

    According to latest guidelines, Government Functionaries Returning to the State: Asymptomatic Government functionaries returning to the State can apply for discharge after 7 (seven) days of quarantine, provided that:

    • They are tested with Rapid Antigen Test on arrival and register themselves for RT¬PCR Testing between the 5th and 6th day.
    • They shall arrange for their own transportation for testing.
    • They shall pay for the tests as per Government rates and can claim reimbursement as applicable. However, Government functionaries on duty need not pay for the testing if done at Government testing facilities.
    • If the result is negative, they can carry on with their official duties by following the health protocols.
    • Proof of the negative test results must be retained by the individual and shared with the concerned authorities, as and when required.
    • If tested positive, they shall have to undergo 10 (ten) day isolation protocol/guidelines as per No. Health.100/2020/63 dated 21.08.2020.

    Health Care Workers of Dedicated COVID-19 Hospitals/Units who are required to undergo quarantine and those authorised by Government:

    • They will be tested on the first day with Rapid Antigen Test.
    • If they are tested negative and asymptomatic, they will quarantine for 7 (seven) days.
    • They will undergo RT-PCR Testing between the 5th and 6th day.
    • Health Care Workers are not required to pay for the testing.
    • If the result is negative, they can carry on with their official duties by following the health protocols.
    • Proof of the negative test results must be retained by the individual and shared with the concerned authorities, as and when required.
    • If tested positive, they shall have to undergo 10 (ten) day isolation protocol/guidelines as per No. Health.100/2020/63 dated 21.08.2020.

    However, other private/non-Government individuals authorised by the Government for 7(seven) days quarantine are required to pay for the test as per Government rates.

    The protocol/guidelines are to be strictly followed till further orders.
