    SHILLONG: The North East Students’ Organization (NESO) on Saturday sought the support of the Janata Dal (United) to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), 2016. 

    A delegation of the NESO led by its chairman Samuel B Jyrwa and Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) chief Lambok Starwell Marngar met the Secretary General of Janata Dal (United), KC Tyagi in New Delhi. 

    During the meeting the NESO leaders expressed their opposition to the proposed CAB. 

    Tyagi has once again reiterated the party’s stand against the said bill and pledge support to the anti CAB movement launched by NESO. 

    The NESO delegation is camping in New Delhi and will meet leaders from various national and regional parties including Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Biju Janata Dal, Bahujan samaj Party, Indian National Congress, Dravida Munetra Kazhagham, to seek their support in the permanent withdrawal of CAB.
