  • NEEPCO hosts official language workshop in Bokuloni to promote the use of Rajbhasha Hindi use

    A one-day Official Language Workshop was held on July 18 at the Assam Gas Based Power Station (AGBPS), NEEPCO Limited, Bokuloni, under the aegis of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Duliajan. The TOLIC functions under the chairmanship of Oil India Limited, Field Headquarters, Duliajan.

    The workshop was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Opang Ering, CGM (Technical) and Head of Plant, NEEPCO Bokuloni. The event aimed at encouraging the use of Rajbhasha Hindi in official communication and enhancing language skills among government employees.

    The session was enriched by the presence of key language and administrative experts, including Bhaskar Babu, Officer-in-Charge, Hindi Teaching Scheme, Dibrugarh; Rajeev Ranjan Prakash, Chief Manager (Rajbhasha), State Bank of India, Administrative Office, Dibrugarh and Diganta Deka, Senior Officer (Rajbhasha) & Member-Secretary, TOLIC, Duliajan.

    Also in attendance were senior NEEPCO officials: Biswajit Sharma and Anupam Singha Barua, General Managers (Technical) and Shantanu Bezbaruah, Deputy General Manager (HR).

    The event opened with a welcome address by Shantanu Bezbaruah, who emphasized the growing importance of promoting Hindi in official domains and leveraging language tools for administrative efficiency.

    Participants received practical training in correct pronunciation and usage, effective written communication in Hindi and the use of language computing tools.

    A total of 34 participants—20 from NEEPCO and 14 from TOLIC member offices—actively engaged in the interactive sessions.

    In his keynote address, Opang Ering urged attendees to incorporate what they learned into their daily work practices and to motivate peers to embrace Hindi in official correspondence. He stressed the role of language in improving communication and streamlining governance.

    The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Gopal Kumar Gupta, Senior Hindi Translator, who thanked all dignitaries, participants, and organising teams for making the event a success. The workshop served as a step forward in fulfilling the objective of increasing the functional use of Hindi in government and public sector institutions.
