NEC’s funded Sohiong’s Rural Market Complex, Sohiong all set for inauguration

In yet another feat to the people of Sohiong Community & Rural Development Block under East Khasi Hills District, the long awaited Rural Market Complex in Sohiong village will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday.

The proposal for the construction of the Rural Market Complex at Sohiong Village was submitted to the Union Ministry for Development of North East Region Ministry in 2015.

Constructed at a land donated by the Hima Sohiong, the total cost of construction of the Rural Market stand at Rs. 1173.00 lakhs.

The Union DoNER Ministry through the North Eastern Council funded 1055.70 lakhs while the State Govt share is Rs.117.30 lakh.
