  • NEC releases Rs 9.14 Cr for 7 projects, Rs 8.88 Cr for Pynursla road in Meghalaya

    The North Eastern Council (NEC) released a total of Rs 9,14,55,500 during the month of June for the implementation of seven projects in Meghalaya.

    Of the total amount, Rs 3,21,18,750 was released for construction of RCC G+4 Commercial Building of Iewdakm Laban Municipal Market Shillong for sale of Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicraft, Piggery, Floriculture Products etc, Rs 1,02,89,000 – construction of Tourism Infrastructure at Laitlyngkot (Lmalyer) in East Khasi Hills District, Rs 1,24,52,000 – Focused Development of Deprives Areas; Deprives Sections of Society by Promotion of Literacy by upgrading selected RK Missions Schools in Meghalaya (RKM School, Umploh & Mawkynrew), Rs 1,47,37,000 – RKM School, Jalapet & Laityngkot, Rs 1,07,64,000 – RKM School, Laitlyndop and Mylliem, Rs 73,04,000 – RKM School Mawsmai and Rs 37,90,750 – construction of Cultural Infrastructure of 6 (Six) Sein Raj in East and West Jaintia Hills District

    In addition, the North Eastern Council had also released funds amounting to Rs 8,88,00,000  under the NESIDS (Roads) for construction of the Pynursla-Latangriwan-Mawlynnong.

    “These funds were released to support a range of sectors, including road connectivity, tourism infrastructure, cultural infrastructure, and development of deprived areas,” the NEC said in a statement.

    “The NEC remains firmly committed to the timely disbursement of funds to ensure the smooth and prompt implementation and completion of development projects in Meghalaya,” it added.
