  • National Lok Adalat settles 190 cases in Meghalaya Districts

    The National Lok Adalat was organised in 11 districts of the State of Meghalaya on Saturday.

    E Kharumnuid Member Secretary, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority informed that in the National Lok Adalat, 639 Pre-Litigation cases and 454 pending cases were taken up for settlement.

    A total 1093 number of cases were taken up and there were 190 lawsuits settled for a total of Rs 6278327.59/- (Rupees Sixty two lakhs seventy eight thousand three hundred twenty seven and fifty nine paise).

    The National Lok Adalat was organised by Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the Patronage of the Hon’ble Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of the Hon’ble Justice HSThangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
