National Highway along Karimganj District breached

The Executive Engineer, P.W.D. Karimganj National Highway Division, Assam informed the stretch of National Highway along the Karimganj Bypass near Poamara ROB at 3rd Km (Approx. length = 30 m) has been breached on Friday’s morning.

The road is presently closed for all kinds of vehicular traffic movement with immediate effect until further order.

However, there are alternative routes from Baba Hotel to Poamara via Karimganj Town along existing road NH-44.

The traffic coming from Badarpur side towards Tripura will follow existing NH-44 from Baba Hotel to Poamara via Karimganj Town and then will follow Karimganj Bypass at 4th Km via Poamara-Kaliganj PWD Road.

While vehicles coming from Tripura side will follow existing NH-44 from Poamara junction of the Karimganj Bypass along the existing single lane Poamara Bridge and then to Baba Hotel via Karimganj town.
