National Fire Service Day observed across West Jaintia Hills

In remembrance of the brave firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, the Fire and Emergency Service Stations of Jowai, Saphai, Amlarem, and Dawki observed National Fire Service Day on April 14 under the theme “Unite to Ignite & Fire Safety India.”

The observance began with a moment of silence to pay tribute to the courage and dedication of fallen fire personnel.

Tributes were led at their respective stations by Dawki Sub-Officer Sabius Dhar, Saphai Sub-Officer Risalan Rymbai, Amlarem Sub-Officer Robert Rymbui, and Jowai Station Officer Anthony Rymbai.

Prior to this, various fire safety and preparedness awareness programmes were conducted to educate the public and promote fire prevention measures.
