National Deworming Programme: Albendazole tablets to be administered to all children in East Khasi Hills

The office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills will conduct the National Deworming programme from the 19^th to 26^th April, 2022 across the District with an aim to intensify efforts towards eradicating Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). The objective of the National Deworming programme is to de-worm all children between the ages of 1-19 years in order to improve their overall well being, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.

The National Deworming programme will be conducted through School Based Approach, Session Site (VHSND/UHSND/Immunization Day etc.) and community based door-to-door approach from the 19th to 26th April, 2022.

During these days, administration of Albendazole in the age group 1-19 years will be done directly by the frontline workers (ASHA/AWW/ANM).
