National Ayurveda Publishing Conclave opens in Guwahati, launches landmark CCRAS journal

The Editors and Reviewers Conclave 2025 of CCRAS Journals was inaugurated Friday at the Assam Water Centre in Guwahati. Organized by the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), and the Ministry of Ayush, the two-day national event brings together top minds shaping academic publishing in the Ayush system.
The conclave gathers chief editors, editorial board members, and peer reviewers from across India to focus on strengthening peer-review systems, promoting ethical publishing practices, and aligning Ayurvedic research with global academic standards.
In his keynote address, Prof. (Vd.) Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of CCRAS, emphasized the urgent need to raise the bar for Ayurvedic scholarship. “High-quality peer-reviewed journals are essential for advancing Ayurveda on a scientific footing,” he said. “Editorial standards must evolve to reflect international best practices.”
The event also featured notable speakers including Dr. B.S. Prasad, President of the Board of Ayurveda (NCISM), Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan, National Research Professor, and Vice Chancellor of NIA Jaipur Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, among others from the Ministry of Ayush and NCISM.
A standout moment was the launch of Abhinav Chintamani, a new CCRAS journal aimed at showcasing cutting-edge research and thought leadership in Ayurveda. The publication is positioned to set a new benchmark in Ayurvedic scholarship and contribute to more rigorous and recognized academic outputs in the Ayush field.
The conclave underscores a broader initiative by CCRAS to elevate the visibility and integrity of Ayurvedic research, positioning it as a vital contributor to India’s healthcare and academic landscape.
