Nagaland Police personnel cannot impose fines for no ILP

The Nagaland Police has clarified that only Magistrates’ can impose fines for Inner Line Permit or ILP violation in the State of Nagaland.

According to the official press release, the police shall be conducting checking for Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State from time to time.

However clarified that Police personnel are not authorized to impose any fines for non-possession of ILP papers or valid documents.

The press release also warned that if any police personnel found indulging in such practices, the same may be reported to senior officers.
