  • NAAC awards ‘B’ grade to Kiang Nangbah Government College, Nongtalang College the oldest institution in Jaintia Hills

    Kiang Nangbah Government College, the oldest college of Jaintia Hills region has managed to get B grade from National Assessment And Accreditation Council (NAAC).

    The grading has been done on the basis of the findings of the three-member peer team who had visited the college for 1st Cycle inspection and assessment of NAAC.

    The NAAC) team consisting of Professor Ashutosh Ghosh (Chairman), Professor Mohammad Arif (Member Coordinator) and Dr. Ajay Bhamare (Member) visited Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai on 15 and 16 November 2021.

    The college has been Accredited with a CGPA of 2.43 on a seven point scale at B Grade valid for a period of 5 years from November 22, 2021. As per the guidelines of NAAC, it is mandatory for accredited institutions to retain the Self-Study Report (SSR) uploaded on the institutional website for A&A by NAAC until the completion of validity period of A&A.

    Similarly, Nongtalang College also was accredited with B grade by NAAC. Nongtalang College was the first college brought under the People’s College Scheme from 1st September this year, informed Lahkmen Rymbui local MLA Amlarem constituency and cabinet minister on the occasion of SHG cum Health Mela held at Amlarem on Monday.

    Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma taking to twitter said “Kiang Nangbah Government College becomes the 1st Govt. College in Meghalaya to be NAAC accredited with Grade ‘B’. Congratulations to the faculty & staff of the College. May they grow from strength to strength in paving a bright future for our children!”
