Opposition members of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) led by leader of opposition and former chief minister Mukul Sangma on Sunday attended a prayer service for good governance and preservation of the council.

Organized by the Tura Based Church Leaders Forum, the prayer service was held at the district auditorium in Tura, West Garo Hills district.

The service brought together political leaders and the community to collectively seek guidance and a positive future for the region.

Mukul Sangma, along with MDCs and community members, participated during the heartfelt prayer service, kneeling in devotion as they sought blessings for good governance, transparency, accountability and effective functioning of the GHADC, to ensure that it serves the people’s interests.

The GHADC has witnessed financial crisis leading to a month-long protest by its employees due to non-payment of salaries for past 43 months.
