The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), under the Chief Minister’s Skills Mission, launched a four-day state-level workshop for Local Training Providers (LTPs) at the Institute of Hotel Management, Mawdiangdiang.
Chaired by MSSDS Executive Director Jagdish Chelani, the workshop (July 1–4) aims to strengthen the skilling ecosystem in line with the state’s vision for FY 2025–26. Chelani urged LTPs to enhance trade expertise and secure placement partners, calling them key drivers of impactful and relevant skill training.

A total of 119 empanelled trainers from 86 institutes are attending capacity-building sessions conducted by MSSDS and partners including DECT, IIE, PRIME Rural, and Avenues. These sessions are expected to cascade down to grassroots beneficiaries.
The CM Skills Mission focuses on improving training quality, expanding reach, and fostering institutional integration. The goal is to equip youth with market-ready skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities across Meghalaya.
