The Meghalaya SSA Schools’ Association (MSSASA) All Garo Hills Unit on Tuesday has filed an FIR against a facebook user for making baseless allegations against the SSA teachers in Garo Hills region.

The complaint was filed with the Tura police station in West Garo Hills against one  Agitok Denis Sangma of Chandmari, Tura for posting various allegations against lower primary and upper primary SSA teachers on a Facebook Group – “All Garo Hills Times Now”.

“The allegation(s) made by Agitok Denis Sangma against SSA teachers is an act of insulting, indignity and his intention is to ravage the image of all the SSA teachers in Rongjeng  Block and entire Garo Hills in particular and the state in general  which is not  acceptable by SSA teachers,” MSSASA-AGHU president Mathias D Shira said in the FIR.

He also requested the police take action against the facebook user as per law.

According to the FIR, Agitok Denis Sangma had alleged that the SSA teachers were working with fake certificates, especially quoting Rongjeng Block which according to him happens during the tenure of MUA Government-led by Dr. Mukul Sangma as Chief Minister.

The facebook user also stated that the SSA Teachers must be terminated by the government of Meghalaya for not acquiring Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) examination as per norms.

“Humiliated SSA Teachers reciting rally and agitating as Tamasha and hilarious SSA teachers put efforts to get the attention of the government for regularisation and various other demands,” Agitok was quoted in the FIR.
