  • Movement of heavy vehicles in NH-6 closed for three days

    The District Administration East Jaintia Hills District has announced that movement of heavy motors vehicles will be closed in National Highway 6 along East Jaintia Hills District for three days from Wednesday to Friday.

    Informing this, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said the strengthening/improvement including regular maintenance work in Jowai-Ratacherra (Meghalaya — Assam Border) stretch from Km 69.200 to 173.200 of National Highway-6 has started on full swing.

    He also said that in order to enable speedy completion of the above-mentioned work, the entire stretches of ongoing works will remain closed only for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from 12-02-2025 to 14-02-2025 (Wednesday to Friday). However, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) will be allowed access during the said period.
