Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitra Margherita said he would take up with the home ministry on reports alleging regrouping of militants along the India-Bangladesh border.

Speaking to reporters, Margherita said if there are such reports, he would take it up with the home ministry.

“We assure that our security, safety is always the priority of our nation” said Margherita.

With regard to the demand for setting up a passport office in Tura West Garo Hills, the Union Minister of Statesaid that till date the department has not received any request from the state government pertaining to this issue.

“So if such a request comes from the state government, definitely the ministry will discuss this. The ministry is working very hard to get services to nooks and corners and even the remotest areas of our country. Definitely if such a proposal comes from the state government or concerned stakeholders, we will discuss and we are optimistic to have something like that” he added.
