More houses placed under containment areas in Malki

Due to the detection of positive COVlD-19 cases in Malki area, the District Magistrate East Khasi Hills has placed the area and houses as containment area to curb the spread of coronavirus.

These houses and compounds at Malki includes Shri Jerry Leiss Fancon, Smti Sweety Jala, Shri H Wanpynshai Dkhar and Smti Winnie Amandaleen Kharmujai at Malki Kharmalki, the houses and compounds of Smti Larisha Kharsati, Smti Cicilia Suting and Smti Ellabella Suting at Khliehshnong, Malki, the houses and compounds of Mandalyn Lyngdoh Mawnai, Albinia Lyngdoh Mawnai, Reena Lyngdoh and Sylvanus Shangpliang of Malki Chinapatty, the entire stretch of Riat Bharat at Malki Nongshiliang, the entire lane from the house of Smti Onima Nongkhlaw (Late Kongtai Nongkhlaw) till the junction near the house of Dr Sondra Kharmalki at Malki Nongshiliang, the houses of Shri Lambert R Shabong, Malki Pdengshnong and the house of Shri Iashanborlang Mukhim, Malki Nongpyngrope

“There has been recent high risk and low risk contact with COVID-19 positive cases and because vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of the health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19,” the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District isaid in her order issued on 28^th July, 2020

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills Districtrestrict unregulated  entry  and  exit  movement  on site.  

No persons are allowed to move into these containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas are not to move out. They must strictly stay inside their houses. All kinds of gatherings, events, functions including social, political, religious and economic activities are not allowed.

All shopping establishments shall be closed immediately and supply of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration.

All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment areas are to close forthwith until further orders.

This order will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, press including electronic and print media, petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce.

Any violation of this order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC. (MIPR)
