The Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) on Thursday donated Rs 83,967 to the Rural 7Trep Aid CV-19, an NGO which is providing relief to villages affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The MLCU in a statement said that the beneficiaries in these villages are those who rely on the nascent rural tourism industry that has taken a severe hit on account of the pandemic adding they also have little to no access to public resources like the PDS or health services.

It said some of the villages in East Khasi Hills that will recieve this relief aid include  Khadar Shnong, Tyrna and Mawshamok.
