Mizoram Police destroyed drugs including morphine worth over Rs 13 crore

The Mizoram Police on Tuesday destroyed narcotic & psychotropic substances worth Rs 13,52,73,450/- seized from 2017 to 2021.

The drugs was destroyed as per recommendation of the High Level Drugs Disposal Committee, Mizoram by using the incinerator at the Trinity Hospital, Silaimual, Melthum.

The disposed drugs are among those seized by Mizoram Police during 2017-2021.

The break up of the narcotics and psychotropic substances are Heroin of 7.158 kgs worth Rs 2,97,82,900/-, Methamphetamine of 37.54 kgs worth Rs 10,37,60,000/-, Ganja of 2.856 kgs worth Rs 55,500/-.

The list continued with Morphine of 36.51 gms worth Rs 16,57,000/-, Codeine of 2.26 kgs and Alprazolam of 138 gms priced at Rs 18050.
