Minister’s PSO accidentally shoots self

SHILLONG: In a freak accident, a PSO of the Health Minister AL Hek on Tuesday accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun.

The incident took place during the opening ceremony of the official function to mark the celebration of the 48th year of Meghalaya statehood held at U Soso Tham Auditorium.

According to police, the PSO was inside the minister’s car when he was cleaning his 9mm gun and accidentally shot himself.

The bullet pierce through his thigh as well as the door of the vehicle, they said. The injured PSO was rushed to Shillong civil hospital, where he immediately received treatment. According to sources, the PSO identified as Wanshan Wahlang is out of danger.
