MHRC directs SP to submit report on murder of 19 yr old girl in EGH

The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of the recent brutal murder of a girl in East Garo Hills district. 

The gruesome incident had taken place at Dawa Matchakolgre area in Williamnagar when one James R Sangma had hacked a 19 year old girl to death in a public place with a machete. 

The Commission has directed the Superintendent of Police, East Garo Hills to submit a detailed report on the matter on the next date of hearing. 

This was informed by the Secretary of MHRC L Ch Marak on Monday.
