MePGCL releases water from Umiam Stage I Reservoir

Based on the IMD warning issued on the 21st August 2024 on the weather warnings for next 7 days on rainfall, MePGCL has commenced the release of water from the Umiam Stage I Reservoir, starting from 23:40 hours on August 21, 2024. The release is being made in a controlled manner to ensure safety and prevent downstream impacts.

The water level in the reservoir was at 3216.15 feet at the start of the release.

MePGCL is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to adjust the gate openings as necessary to ensure safe and efficient management of the reservoir.
