With an aim to create employment avenues, a technology/service start-up called JETS 24*7 was launched on Saturday becoming the state’s first local bike taxi aggregator in the state of Meghalaya.

JETS 24*7 is made operational through a mobile application where passengers can avail the services of e-vehicles.

Speaking at the launch programme held at Shillong Press Club, managing director of JETS 24*7 Pynskhemlang Uriah said that the idea JETS 27*7 was conceived on April 2022.

Expressing concern on the rise of unemployment in the state, he said that he took the advantage of becoming the state’s first aggregator on seeing that there is no such aggregator in the state.

He said that JETS 24*7 is a technological startup that connects a rider and the passenger, he appealed for public support to use their services which will be provided at an affordable rate.

Speaking as the chief guest, Editor of The Shillong Times Patricia Mukhim said that having an on-line taxi aggregator create a sense of security amongst passengers.

Happy that Uriah started the first bike taxi aggregators, she said they business is not easy and urged other youth to start their own ventures.

“You have to have commitment which means a lot of hardwork. This work is very competitive,” Mukhim said.

Good initiative with the e-bikes but hope you are provided with enough electricity to charge them up. With load shedding on the rise, I hope this initiative does not end up someone’s hope like how it happened to most of us.

And safety is taken into utmost consideration I believe. Or else the rush driving of two wheelees in shillong, including overtaking from wrong side, is known to everyone.
