Meghalaya’s contingent given warm send off for Khelo India in Haryana

Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh on Friday accorded warm sent off to the Meghalaya contingent which will be participating in the Khelo India Youth Games, which will take place in Panchkula, Haryana from 3rd to 14th June, 2022.

The programme organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya was held at SAI, Football Ground, NEHU Campus, Shillong.

Lyngdoh said that as athletes representing the state, it is important to maintain discipline, dedication, to perform well and bring laurels to the state. He also stated that Meghalaya has already implemented the sport policy which will be beneficial for the young athletes and budding talents of the state. He expressed his gratitude to the Sports Associations, the Coaches and the supporting staff for honing and nurturing the athletes for these types of national events.

The Minister reiterated the importance of team spirit and a fighting spirit to achieve their goals.

The Meghalaya contingent comprises of 32 athletes and 10 officials who will be competing in Football, Athletics, Judo, Swimming and Boxing. The team is led by Darlene M Khonglam as the Chef De Mission.
