Meghalaya wins upcoming Tourism Destination Award from Outlook Magazine

Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh announced that Meghalaya won the Upcoming Tourism Destination award from Outlook Magazine.
Informing this here at the inauguration of Winter Tales festival held on Thursday at the idyllic locale of Ward’s Lake, he said, “Before resuming my seat, I also have the proud privilege of announcing before you that the state has just won a very prestigious award that is Upcoming Tourism Destination from Outlook Magazine, it is a prestige, it is another notched up for Meghalaya tourism, we will keep scripting the success story with the active participation and involvement of each one of you.”
The minister encouraged the visitors to the Winter Tales to visit the stalls to witness that the materials used are all organic, maintaining that the Tourism department has been promoting organic products.
Lyngdoh said, “We would like to ensure that development is inclusive and that you are part of the state’s growth trajectory. All around us there is greenery but we would like to upscale whatever we have done in order to ensure that Meghalaya continues to be an example for the rest of the country that our tourism is not just commercially oriented but that we also are responsible and would like to sustain the growth of our state in a manner which is befitting the greenery that we have.”
Winter Tales will conclude on December 16 and visitors will be treated to local delicacies, music, kids zone, arts and crafts, farmers’ market among others.
