Meghalaya will witness the 1st NE Strongman Strongwoman Events & Competition 2019

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Strongman & Amateur Power Sports Association is all set to conduct the 1st Northeast Strongman Strongwoman Events & Competition 2019 in the State on the 20th July, 2019 at the 5th ground Polo, Shillong. This event was sanctioned by The Amateur Power Sports Association under aegis of Strongman Corporation of India (Arnold Series).

More than 60 or more participants both Men and women will show their strength and ability , power and enthusiasm at the event.The event for men include games such as Car Pull,Farmers Walk ,Car Dead Lift,One Arm Dumble Press and Crucifix while for women it includes Events of Car Pull, Front Plate Hold, Farmers Walk and One Arm Dumble Press.

Besides main events of Strongman/Strongwoman, indigenous games like Cock Fight and Tug of War will be displayed and bout between School Children of different School in and around Shillong to encourage youngsters to come forward to take part in such Events in near future

This Sport does not require a well tone body like body building or other regular sports especially of martial arts. It is judged purely on strength of the athlete. That means our way of life in doing things in our daily life like in the field like farmers, porters in the market places, car mechanic, farmers and even cowboys in the rural areas can get such as a platform to show their strength, ability and energy.

From this event, five best athletes will be selected to participate at Trial Events of International Competition well known as “Arnold Series”. The series is name after a famous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Strongman & Strongwoman Athletes have to report at 7 am for registration and official weighing at the Main Hall of Hotel Assembly on the 20th July 2019. The Events will be conducted by 4 Officials and Referees of Strongman Association of India.
