    Two Covid-19 patients were discharged today morning from Corona Care Centre, Tura after being tested negative twice.

    This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills Ram Singh in the presence of Officer on Special Duty and Incharge, Corona Care Centre, D D Shira, District Medical and Health Officer, Tura, Dr. Marwin R Sangma, Joint Director and Superintendent, Tura Civil Hospital, Dr. Menakshi A Sangma, medical officers and staff of health department, Tura.

    In his brief speech, the Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh congratulated the entire team of Corona Care Centre, Tura comprising of Medical Officers on duty, D D Shira, Incharge Corona Care Centre, other health workers, staff including sanitization workers for their dedicated service to the patients of Corona Care Centre. Mentioning that the disease has been portrayed to be deadly, and now by taking proper preventive measures and isolation, the asymptomatic patients are being cured of the disease which perhaps gives hope to the people that the disease is not as it seems to be, but needs to follow the guidelines and advisories properly, he added.

    Further, he informed that the patients requires a conducive and friendly environment and needs to communicate with others as they are in isolation physically and taking care of their psychological requirement is very important , he said.

    “As of now there is only one active patient in the district,” he informed.
