    Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar informed that the North Eastern states of India will go to the polls on April 19, 2024, date of counting is June 4.

    He said that the ECI has worked hard on the electoral roll and reached out to inaccessible areas in the big country as India.

    The last date of nominations is March 27 and the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is March 30, 2024.

    It is a seven phased poll. The term of the present Lok Sabha ends on June 16. Kumar informed that the total electors in the country is about 96. 8 crores.
