    After 13 long years of service in Meghalaya, the GVK Emergency and Research Institute (EMRI) has finally been shown the door by the Meghalaya Govt while succumbing to the pressure of the Meghalaya EMRI Workers Union, who went for indefinite strike demanding termination of contract with GVK EMRI.

    Notably, the Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union (MEMRIWU) went on indefinite strike from July 18, last, which adversely affected the delivery of emergency services in the entire state.

    The indefinite strike was not called off despite several efforts made by Govt and finally compelled the Meghalaya Health Department to terminate contract with GVK EMRI and go for fresh bidding for running 108 service in Meghalaya.

    This came to light according to advertisement issued by Mission Director, Meghalaya National Health Mission on Friday.

    The advertisement read in view of the disruption of the Emergency Response Service (ERS) Dial-108 as a stop-gap arrangement to resume the service till the Tender process is completed.

    The office of the Mission Director, National Health Mission Government of Meghalaya invites application from wiling candidates to be recruited on a temporary basis for a period of 3 (three) months.

    The temporary jobs include the post Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedics) and drivers / pilot and the wages is on per day basis at Rs.800 and Rs 570 respectively.

    For EMT the desirable qualification is any Science graduate with biology as a subject in HSSLC/ practicing EMT. Paramedics/BHM/ BAMS/ AYUSH/ BSc MLT/ Bsc MIT/ BSc MST/ BSc. Physician Assistant BSc Community Health Practitioners / BSc Nursing/ GNM. B Pharm/ Physiotherapy.

    Meanwhile for pilot candidates who have experience and 12th pass. Drivers with background in driving commercial vehicles and with commercial vehicle driving license. Minimum 3 years of Heavy Vehicle driving experience with total of 5 years driving experience

    The Age Limit for both posts is 21-30 years.

    Location of the Ambulance:
    East Khasi Hills: Laitumkhrah, Shillong-Guwahati, Smit, Mawryngkneng, Pomlum, Pynursla, Sohra, Mawsynram, Mawphlang, Lawbah, Laityngkot, Swer Lawmali.

    South West Khasi Hills: Mawkyrwat, Ranikor, Rangthong.

    West Khasi Hills: Markasa, Malrang, Nongkhlaw, Rangdo, Nongthliew, Nongstoin.

    West Jaintia Hills (Jowai Civil Hospital, Jarain, Khliehtyrchi, Laskein, Nartiang, while East Jaintia Hills (Khliehriat).

    Ri Bhoi District (Bhoirymbong, Byrnihat, Nongpoh, Kyrdem, Umsnirg. Patharkhmah, Umiam).

    West Garo Hills Tura Civil Hospital, Dalu, Tikrikilla, Phulbari, Tura-Guwahati, Dadenggre, Asananggre

    South West Garo Hills: (Ampati, Garobadha, Mahendragan).
    East Garo Hills: Williamnaganar Ronigjeng. Songsak).
    North Garo Hills: Rari, Bajengdoba, Resubelpara).
    South Garo Hills: (Baghmara.Gasuapara).

    The staff engaged under this project will be completely temporary in nature and under no
    Circumstances ever have any claim, whatsoever for appointment with the Government

    The staff will be remunerated on a per diem basis and only for the days that they are on duty. They shall not be entitled for any Social Security Benefits (Provident Fund
    Insurance etc) nor TA/DA for reporting to duty at their place of posting.

    Preference would be given to the employees already working under the project or who have worked previously with requisite qualification and experience. There will no age bar for the ones with the experience.

    Applications in standard form should reach the office of the District Medical & Health
    Officers (DM&HO) of each district and necessary screening and shortlisting of candidates would be conducted accordingly.

    Eligible candidates can submit their application on or before 5:00 p.m of the 9th of
    August, 2022 at the respective DMHO’s Office of the District.

    The working shift will be on a 12 hourly basis.

    The Mission Director reserves the right to reject any/ all applications without assigning any
    reason thereof.

    Notice board regularly for any notice or information related to the positions. All applications will be subjectto a screening process constituted tor the purpose.

    NO TA/DA wilI be paid to the applicants for attending the interview.
