  • Meghalaya students can secure scholarships for higher education

    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday informed that Fresh and Renewal applications are invited for students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya studying within and outside the state for the year 2023-24 for grant of North Eastern Council Merit Scholarship for students undergoing Diploma, Degree, Post-Graduate or registered in M.Phil/Ph. D courses of any institute recognized by the Government.

    Students should produce PRC obtained from the Deputy Commissioner along with other relevant documents as per guidelines issued and they are advised to go through the scheme guidelines before filling up of online applications.

    Fresh applications are to be submitted only through online mode through the website www.scholarships.gov.in while renewal application forms for Merit Scholarship may be downloaded by using the link https://megeducation.gov.in/dhte/pages/scholarship_forms.html     

    Applications are also invited from students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya for the year 2023-24 for Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (fresh and renewal) to be awarded by the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of India. Application forms for students are to be submitted online in the dedicated National Scholarship Portal (NSP), namely, www.scholarships.gov.in

    The last date for submitting of applications for both the above-mentioned scholarships is 31st December 2023. For details including eligibility criteria etc, students may visit the website www.scholarships.gov.in
