Meghalaya State Anthem under preparation

The Meghalaya Arts & Culture Department has decided to keep the performance and playing of the newly released State Anthem on hold as it is still under preparation.

The direction is issued by U.Kharkongor Under Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Arts and Culture Department to Deputy Commissioners of all districts vide letter no. MAC.3/2022/Pt.I/14, Dated Shillong, the 24th January, 2024.

The letter read, “As directed by Chief Minister and Chief Secretary, Govt. of Meghalaya. I am directed to inform you that performance and playing of State Anthem at State Level and District are not to be undertaken on 26th January, 2024, as the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in connection with the State Anthem is still under preparation.”
