Government of Meghalaya has decided to ramp up its vaccination campaign like it’s a battle in efforts to handle the rapid increase of Covid-19 cases during this second wave.

The goal, according to Chief Minister Conard K Sangma, is that the state plans to vaccinate all 6.5 lakh of its citizens over the age of 45 against Covid-19 by next month. So far 1.88 lakh Covid-19 jabs have been administered.

Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, in a tweet also emphasized the importance of taking a targeted approach, identifying hotspots, and completing the Phase 2 vaccination drive aggressively in a meeting with all Deputy Commissioners of every district.

Convened a meeting with all DCs to review the #VaccinationDrive in the State and the Department's strategy to handle the #SecondCOVIDWave. Stressed on the need to adopt a target approach, identify hotspots & aggressively complete the Phase 2 vaccination drive.@drharshvardhan pic.twitter.com/VURGNKIHiw
