  • Meghalaya reports 63 new COVID-19 cases, 60 recovery

    Sixty-three more persons, including 39 BSF troopers, have tested positive for COVID-19 while 60 patients have recovered from the viral infection, taking the total active cases in the state to 693 and total recoveries to 655.

    Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said of the 63 new cases, 48 were detected from West Garo Hills district of which 39 are BSF troopers and 9 are civilians, 9 from Ri Bhoi and 6 from East Khasi Hills district.  

    He also informed that another 60 patients including 56 civilians have recovered from the infection today. These include 56 (1 BSF, 3 Armed Forces, 52 civilians) from East Khasi Hills, 3 from Ri Bhoi and 1 from West Jaintia Hills.

    East Khasi Hills is the worst hit district with 388 cases that include 233 civilians, 86 BSF troopers and 69 AF, followed by West Garo Hills with 183 cases and Ri Bhoi with 95 cases. 

    In other districts, North Garo Hills has 6 cases, West Jaintia Hills 5, East Jaintia Hills 5, West Khasi Hills 3, South West Garo Hills 3, South Garo Hills 2 and South West Khasi Hills 1.
