  • Meghalaya reports 12 new COVID-19 cases, 30 recovery

    Twelve more persons have tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, taking the tally of active cases in the state to 638.

    Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases include 8 civilians and 3 armed forces personnel from East Khasi Hills and 1 from North Garo Hills.

    He also informed that as many as 30 more patients have recovered from the infection today, taking the total recoveries in the state to 547. The new recovered cases include 11 BSF troopers, 7 civilians and 2 armed forces personnel in East Khasi Hills while 7 civilians and 3 armed forces personnel in Ri Bhoi District.

    Of the 638 active cases in the state, Dr War said East Khasi Hills has 436 cases that include 278 civilians, 86 BSF and 72 Armed Forces.

    There are 83 cases in Ri Bhoi, 82 in West Garo Hills, 16 in West Jaintia Hills, 6 in East Jaintia Hills, 6 in North Garo Hills, 3 in West Khasi Hills, 3 in South Garo Hills, 2 in South West Garo Hills and 1 in South West Khasi Hills.
