    The state has detected 16 new COVID-19 cases and two recoveries on Sunday

    Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 11 from East Khasi Hills district, of which 4 are Armed Force/Paramilitary Force and 7 civilians, 3 from Ri Bhoi district and 2 from West Garo Hills district. 

    He said the two patients who recovered from the viral infection are from Ri Bhoi distrct.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 14,122 COVID-19 cases out of which 102 are active cases, 13,870 recovered and 150 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has 69 active cases, West Garo Hills 25, Ri Bhoi 7 and West Khasi Hills 1.

    On the other hand, of the 4,08,884 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,94,762 were tested negative for the virus even as 44 persons are in institutional quarantine and 58 under home quarantine.

    There are 99,119 entrants from outside the state.
