    The East Khasi Hills District Magistrate on Thursday closed down community health centre (CHC), Pynursla after 8 (eight) persons were tested COVID-19 positive.

    The order was issued by the District Magistrate after receiving a report from the Block Development Officer, Pynursla C&RD Block that 8 (eight) COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in the Community Health Centre (CHC), Pynursla.

    “The Community Health Centre (CHC), Pynursla has been closed temporarily from 1st October to 4th October, 2020 in order to facilitate contact tracing, sanitization and testing,” the order said.

    In another order, the District Magistrate also directed Bashan Footwear at Mission Compound to remain closed until further orders after the detection of COVID-19 positive cases. The order was issued based on the report and the recommendation of the Incident Commander, Zone-IV and in the interest of the health and safety of the general public.
