    Meghalaya Government has allowed to play football from 12 September subject to compliance with the SoP issued by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Meghalaya

    Chief Secretary Meghalaya MS Rao in an order issued on Thursday said that “football training is permitted for sports clubs/associations with effect from 12th September, 2020 subject to compliance with the SoP issued by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Meghalaya and strict adherence to the social distancing protocols of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya.”

    “Sports club/ associations that wish to resume football training should submit an undertaking to the Deputy Commissioner confirming adherence to the SoP mentioned above and obtain prior permission from the respective Deputy Commissioner.

    Deputy Commissioners shall check and verify adherence to all the guidelines and protocols. Deputy Commissioners shall also ensure strict compliance to these guidelines through periodic inspections and regulate the location, schedule and timing of practice sessions depending on the local situation and to meet the social distancing norms,” the order said.
