    The state on Tuesday recorded 2 COVID-19 related deaths, taking the number of fatalities to 1,573 even as 42 have tested positive for the virus and the total active cases now stand at 291.

    The fresh cases include 10 from East Khasi Hills, 6 West Garo Hills, 5 North Garo Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 4 Ri Bhoi, 4 West Jaintia Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills, 3 Eastern West Khasi Hills, 1 South West Khasi Hills and 1 West Khasi Hills.

    A total of 92 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

    So far, the state has detected a total of 93,346 COVID-19 cases out of which 291 are active cases, 91,482 recovered and 1,573 deaths.

    East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 107 followed by West Garo Hills 42, Ri Bhoi 28, West Jaintia Hills 37, North Garo Hills 16, Eastern West Khasi Hills 12, West Khasi Hills 7, South West Garo Hills 15, East Jaintia Hills 13, East Garo Hills 6, South West Khasi Hills 5 and South Garo Hills 3.
